Tokyo, June 19, 2009 - SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. (SANYO) today introduces the industry's first^*1 IEEE802.11n^*2 high-speed, wireless Wide XGA LCD projector, the LP-WXU700. The projector is able to stream video via its “Video Streaming Function”^*3 across the wireless LAN, allows easier projection utilizing Windows Vista^® Network Projector Function, and offers incredible value as the brightest of its class^*4 while still offering Wide XGA projection, among a host of other features. The LP-WXU700 will start being sold in Japan from June 19, 2009, targeting use at offices or schools.

This projector and a host of other models will be on display in Orlando, Florida at “InfoComm 2009”, to be held from June 17 to 19, 2009.

The number of units shipped in the global market for Wide XGA Ultra Portable Projectors is expected to reach about 140,000 units in 2008, once the final figures are reported, and it is estimated to reach 270,000 units in 2009.
