Outline and Background
The
number of units shipped in the global market for Wide XGA Ultra
Portable Projectors is expected to reach about 140,000 units in 2008,
once the final figures are reported, and it is estimated to reach
270,000 units in 2009. Furthermore, this market is predicted to grow
favorably, reaching about 400,000 units by 2010 (SANYO forecast). In
the office and education markets, with the transition towards
widescreen aspect ratio monitors for notebook and laptop computers,
many users have expressed the desire to project content in the same
aspect ratio appearing on the computer screen. Along with the
popularization of video devices and content in recent years, there has
also been increased demand for seamless video playback using a
projector, eliminating the reliance on computers that might not have
the specifications desired to show higher quality video.
The new LP-WXU700 was designed to meet the needs of this market.
Following the launch of the LP-XU300 Series six models that offer
novice users "Simple and Easy" setup and design, this new projector was
designed with advanced features such as Wide XGA Real compatibility,
the industry's first*1 IEEE802.11n*2 high-speed wireless LAN capability, and a 'Video Streaming function'*3.
With these functions and many more, this projector is able to perform
seamless video playback, while being flexible enough to project in even
brighter locations as it is the brightest of its class*4 at
3,800 lumens. A number of other various networking functions have been
included in this projector in order to make it the most convenient for
a number of purposes in the office or at school.
